Haggard Cat – First Words Single Review
- Release Date: October 1, 2019
- Label: Earache Records
Ex ‘Heck’ (nee ‘Baby Godzilla‘) duo ‘Haggard Cat’ return to the drum and guitar scene with a bang. After what felt like an eternity since the 2018 release of ‘Challenger’ the Nottingham based lads have finally announced the follow-up album, ‘Common Sense Holiday’, with a brand new single ‘First Words’.
This band are known for creating a racket and after attending their debut Album Release show in Bristol it’s safe to say that their next release was surrounded with hype here at the Loud Adventures camp. A hangman style marketing campaign concluded with the band announcing their new album and dropping a video for the first single, ‘First Words’. However, this was no ordinary single, there was a very familiar voice on the record and face in the video. It’s only bloody ‘Jamie Lenman’.
The track flaunts some of the lead shredder, shouter and all-round nice chap, ‘Matt Reynolds’‘ vocal talents as the track doesn’t jump straight into his rough, yet perfectly executed, shouts and screams. Acompany the face gurning riffs with ‘Tom Marsh’‘ drum skills and of course a dose of ‘Jamie Lenman’, you’ve got a cracking comeback track.
‘Common Sense Holiday’ is due to be released on the 13th of March via Earache Records and it cannot come quick enough!
